Data Residency - not all SOCs are the same!

If you've never really thought about where your log data is stored and analysed then stay with me on this. I know it's not the most exciting subject out there but you should take this into consideration when choosing your Managed SOC!

So what's the big deal and why should you care, well firstly let's make sure we are on the same page with definitions:

Data residency is where a business specifies the geographical location for data storage. This mean that the data location is subject to the laws of that region. In short your data is only as secure as the legal framework that is applied to it.

When we collect your log data we send it, encrypted, to our Offshore SOC located in Guernsey. I'm sure some people reading this may be familiar with Guernsey but for those that aren't there are many advantages of data residency in Guernsey.

Guernsey has its own Government, makes its own laws and has an internationally respected data protection authority Since the 1960's it has been one of the leading locations for Offshore Finance.

This makes Guernsey 'The trusted jurisdiction for secure data processing and storage'.

So when you combine the benefits of our SOC's physical location which is running the very latest XDR platform for threat detection and remediation, backed up by our SOC analysts we really do have a unique cyber security solution. It's cost effective that makes it's the ideal platform for small business, with the power, features and scalability that can support enterprises with thousands of users in multiple locations.
